Fahnestock State Park Hiking

The park is traversed by the taconic state parkway, us route 9, nys route 301 and several local roads. Visitors of the park can walk or bike the many hiking trails running through the park, enjoy the beach on canopus lake, fish on pelton pond, rent boats at the boat launch, or stay the night at one of the 80 camp sites with picnic tables and charcoal grills or rv trailer sites. The state park is a popular stop for thru hikers of the 2180 mile national scenic.

Fahnestock park is a 14,000 acre park, covering land in putnam and dutchess counties, boasts hiking trails, a beautiful beach, picnic areas, scenic campground, and abundant opportunities for boating, hunting, fishing, and birding. The 14,086 acre clarence fahnestock memorial state park is located in putnam and dutchess counties.
